Device Overview
The Sonar UZ 201 memory device is a rectangular device of black color. In the lower part of the case there is a recess where they hide: power cord and terminals for connecting to the battery.
This is a fully automated device. The device does not require any additional settings. It automatically adjusts to the batteries that it needs to charge.
There are several bulbs on the top of the unit. One of them, located to the right and far from a series of others, is an indicator of the power of the device. A series of bulbs located opposite the power indicator is marked with numbers from 0.5 A to 4.5 A. They signal a complete discharge of the battery or, conversely, a charged battery.
When the battery is completely discharged, the indicators will all light red. They signal that a current of 4.5 A is flowing into the battery. As the battery charges, the lamps will go out one after the other. And when fully charged, only one 0.5 A indicator will remain lit, indicating that a minimum of electric current is entering the battery.

The Sonar UZ 201 device is protected against short circuit, and also against reverse polarity. The device is equipped with electronic protection against overheating, which monitors the temperature in the internal part of the device.
The device has two operating modes:
- battery revitalization;
- space charge mode.
This device is characterized by high reliability and low cost. With proper care, it will last more than 5 years. The device is demanding to care:
- it is not recommended to switch it on immediately after transportation in the cold season. It must be allowed to adapt to a normal environment within 2 hours;
- It is not recommended to store in damp rooms. Contact oxidation will occur, which will lead to failure of the device;
- storage period not more than 5 years;
- charge the battery in a ventilated area.
The device is designed to charge lead-acid batteries with a capacity of 20 to 65 Ah and a voltage of 12 V. It is used for charging not only automobile batteries, but also boat, motorcycle. Charges quickly and does not lead to overcharging the battery and its negative consequences: boiling electrolyte, damage or battery failure.
A series of “Sonar UZ 201 P” from the apparatus “Sonar UZ 201 M” differs in that it has a pointer ammeter.
Important! Despite all the factory precautions built into the device, it is not recommended to leave it unattended when turned on.
How to charge the battery using Sonar UZ 201
In the kit for each device is attached instructions with a manual for storage and operation of the device.Before you start working with the device, you must remove the wires from the special recess.
- Connect the terminals marked in color to the same color terminals on the battery. If the battery does not have a color designation, then the red clip or “plus” is connected to the plus terminal, and the black or “minus” to the minus terminal.
- Plug in the power source.
- The green indicator lights up. If the battery is not charged, all red indicators will light. The sonar will automatically determine the degree of battery discharge and turn on the “revitalization” or “space charge” mode.
- After the battery is charged, you must disconnect the device from the power source.
- Then remove the clips from the battery.
