Almost the main supplier of batteries for Japanese cars has become a company with a century of history called Panasonic. More recently, Panasonic car batteries began to appear in our Russian markets. Until that time, there were no direct partnerships with Russia. For a short period of time, Panasonic batteries received a lot of feedback from our brother, but first things first.

The Japanese manufacturer of electronic goods and household appliances Panasonic, has reached the world level for a long time. It is one of the largest corporations in the world. In Russia, under the Panasonic brand for more than 30 years they have been selling televisions, plasma panels, telephones, bread machines, cameras, irons, epilators and other products.

About 10 years ago, under this brand, a new category of goods appeared on the market - starter car batteries. The cost of Japanese units is above average, the batteries have proven extremely positive.

The production of Panasonic batteries is based on offering consumers high-quality products. Batteries differ:

• high starting current and capacity;
• low self-discharge and internal resistance;
• they are completely maintenance free.

Where are Panasonic batteries used?

Just 10 years ago, it was possible to see Panasonic car batteries only in the starting configuration of Japanese cars. Asian manufacturers installed them on Nissan, Mazda, Honda, Mitsubishi, Subaru, Lexus, Toyota. Such cars have an unusual way of attaching the battery; the battery is attached using the upper presser foot.

Today, the manufacturer changed the battery case, which allowed the installation of units on Asian-made cars. In such a technique, the battery is secured with a lower lock.

Applied technologies and their features

On the Internet, it’s quite difficult to find the official website of the engineering company Panasonic. However, many sources indicate that the manufacturer was able to achieve high-quality production due to the fact that it uses pure lead (C000) with a purity of 99.9996%.

Battery production is carried out in two places:

• Thailand, Panasonic Energy Co Ltd is working on the release of MF Standard models.
• Japan, Panasonic Storage Battery Co. Ltd, models: SP Premium Grade, Panasonic MF High.

The production is based on Silver technology, which includes coating (cladding) of lead plates with a silver layer. Lead gratings are alloyed with tin, calcium. Silver technology allows you to increase not only the technical characteristics of the units, but also “stretch” the expiration date, the service life of up to 5 years, making the units completely maintenance free.

Technical characteristics of a model range

In Russia, the Panasonic battery range is represented by the following model range: MF Standart and MF High. Distributors offer the goods as original components for Japanese-made machines.

Panasonic MF Standart

Panasonic MF Standart series lead-acid starter batteries are represented by a fairly wide variety of models.

All units have a voltage of 12 V. They differ in direct or reverse polarity, depending on the model. The terminals are Japanese or European.

Note! All models have double fastening (lower and upper), which allowed to expand their use.

Panasonic MF High

Units labeled FH are Panasonic MF High batteries. They are characterized by low susceptibility to corrosion, high performance.

The voltage of the units is 12 V, the polarity is forward and reverse, the terminals are thin and thick. Models can be either with Asian terminals of the ASIA type or with standard European ones.

Service and Charging

Aggregates manufactured by Panasonic are considered completely maintenance-free. All that the owner can do is recharge the battery as needed if it is exhausted. The manufacturer recommends always additionally charge the product during cold weather.

Only automatic devices are selected for charging, which, using the selected program, will be able to independently control the charging current and voltage. When charging, the terminals are connected observing the polarity. The current is set based on 1/10 (10%) of the battery capacity, that is, the unit capacity is 90 A / h, charged with a current of 9 A / h. Completely shrunken unit is reanimated with less current supply - 1-2 A / h. The set voltage must correspond to 14.5 V, on a completely dead from 12 to 13 V.

How to find out the release date and decrypt the code

Any Panasonic battery model on the case has information about the country of manufacture, release date. You can determine the year of manufacture, date, month by the inscription on the label, it is applied with paint.

The code is a set of six digits arranged on the principle of the first two - the day, the second - the month, the third - the year. The seventh mark of the marking is the letter that defines the class of the product. For example, 141218A means December 14, 2018, class A.
